CORNERSTONE FUND TO BE MERGED INTO WIF

For decades, Wesleyan Investment Foundation and Cornerstone Fund separately have worked towards a shared mission of helping resource the local church by providing loans to start and strengthen churches so more people can meet, know and follow Jesus.

As many of you know, on November 9, 2021, Cornerstone Fund affiliated with Wesleyan Investment Foundation. The affiliation enabled the Wesleyan Investment Foundation and Cornerstone Fund to resource more churches, serve a larger number of investors, and expand our Kingdom impact as we reach more people for Christ. As the next step in this affiliation, effective May 1, 2022, Cornerstone Fund will be fully merged into Wesleyan Investment Foundation.

As a result of the merger, each Cornerstone Fund investor must make a decision with respect to any investment(s) in Cornerstone Fund. Savings-account interest is compounded and credited monthly, based on the daily collected balance. Interest rates are variable and determined semi-annually at WIF’s discretion and are subject to change.

Most organizations have this role clearly identified and named. However, we’ve found some organization’s may not have a clearly defined board secretary. If this is the case for your organization please identify someone to fulfill that duty and include their name/email in the following fields. If you’re still uncertain you can leave it blank for now. But you will need to complete a board resolution and submit it to us to complete the setup process.

MORTGAGE LOAN PROCESS INFORMATION

Required Data

Completed Loan Application.
Financial Statements (showing income/expenses) for last three (3) years.
Current Year Financial Statements and Church Budget (showing income/expenses).
Evidence of Local Church Approval of the Loan (meeting Minutes or Resolution).
Evidence of District Board or Conference approval, and certification of their willingness to co-sign or guarantee the Loan if necessary.
Name and address of attorney or title insurance company whom we may employ on your behalf to prepare the Note, Mortgage and Title work (see Loan Application page 3).
Detailed explanation for purpose and justification of the Loan with a picture of land and/or buildings, and how the Loan is to be repaid.
Survey and/or appraisal if one already exists or upon request.

General Guidelines

Loan Terms up to twenty (20) years, with longer payment amortization if needed.
Maximum Loan amount should not exceed three (3) times annual tithes and offerings, and should not exceed 75% of the project cost or appraisal in most cases.
Project or Construction Draws should not exceed more than one (1) per month.

Pricing and Fees

Loan Interest Rates are typically fixed for three (3) years and adjusted every three (3) years thereafter to WIF prevailing Interest Rate at that time.
Interest Rates are subject to change up until Loan Closing, unless noted otherwise.
Loan Servicing Fee of ½ of 1%, with $250 minimum.
