Multiply is a favorite verb in life. It is something I enjoy more than I can describe in ministry leadership. One of the definitions of the word is to, increase in number by reproducing. From an opposite perspective, I’m not a big fan of subtraction, unless absolutely necessary. In Christian terms, the process of multiplying should be the normal activity of any person and any congregation. For us, who or what should be multiplied? Consider:

  • Believers
  • Disciples
  • Saints
  • Lovemarks
  • Disciplines
  • Witnessing
  • Testimonials
  • Good Examples
  • Leaders
  • Churches
  • Congregations
  • Ministries
  • Volunteers
  • Servanthood
  • Reconciliation
  • The Called
  • Generosity
  • Influence
  • Impact
  • Global Worldviews
  • Communities Transformed for Jesus

All of these areas of Christian living (and more) should increase and reproduce in some fashion. Such engagement should be the reality for every disciple of Jesus as well as every church. Every disciple should be continuously growing in his or her relationship with Jesus. Every church should be growing up, down, and out.

How is multiplication going for you and your church today? What will you pray about, believe for, and do every day to get to the next level of increase in your personal and church life for the good of Christ’s Kingdom?
