An airport ad read, “Change is great; Transformation is Everything!” I agree. Especially when it comes to a person’s soul, character, and lifestyle. We can “change” a lot. Tweaks here and there are a definite step in the right direction most of the time. Yet, a mere change here or there doesn’t usually last long.
Businesses, golfers, even churches and denominations constantly search for the next best practice, tool, trend, structure, and strategy. This approach to effectiveness can be a good thing unless it is the only thing that is chased after.
The reality is we all need transformation. We need it personally. We need it nationally. We need it corporately. Perhaps we have fallen prey to the idea that we can change or fix anything, in and of ourselves. If that’s your perspective, how’s that going for you?
God is the One who transforms. He is still in the business of creating, and re-creating. Have you trusted His transforming power lately? Are you weary of trying to “change” everything? Have you consulted Him more than popular or self-opinion? Remember, Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)
